Epic Games Uses AWS to Deliver Fortnite to 200 Million Players.
>Here in this blog i have taken a stories of company name Epic Games that got benefitted from AWS. And AWS is a part of cloud computing
>At first i would like to explain the title of this blog , it says that Epic Games uses AWS to deliver fortnite to 200 million players. Here we are talking about a fabulous Epic Games was founded in 1991 and released Unreal, which gives its name to the engine, in 1998. The Fortnite battle bus first took to the skies in 2017; the title is now available on seven different platforms across computers, consoles and mobile devices. It was all possible with the help of AWS.
I would like to explain what is Cloud Computing and how AWS works :
~Cloud Computing:
> cloud computing involves delivering different types of services over the Internet. From software and analytics to secure and safe data storage, networking resources , RAM , Hard disk ,CPU etc.
~AWS:
Amazon Web Service is the best example of cloud computing . Offering compute power, database storage, content delivery and other functionality to help businesses scale and grow. Running web and application servers in the cloud to host dynamic websites.
~In success rocket launch of Fortnite ,Why Epic Game thanks to Amazon Web Services(AWS)
>With the help of AWS services, including analytics, machine learning, and containers, Epic Games continually improves its gameplay. “We’re excited to work with AWS to expand our use of analytics, machine learning, and containerized applications using Kubernetes to make our sizeable infrastructure even easier to maintain,” concluded Chris.
>“We’ve been developing our services on AWS since 2012. AWS has the broadest and deepest portfolio of services that allow us to stay focused on driving innovation in our products rather than the basic infrastructure needed to get or keep a service running. Their unmatched scalability has been instrumental in keeping pace with our rocketing player populations,” said Chris Dyl, director of platform at Epic Games.
>using AWS because they enable us to offer a quality gaming experience to millions of gamers around the world, simultaneously.
>They are run service in 24 availability zones around the world to provide the best customer experience to players.(Availability Zones = An Availability Zone (AZ) is one or more discrete data centers with redundant power, networking, and connectivity in an AWS Region.)
> When an “unprecedented” flood of players rushed into the game for the rocket launch, AWS allowed Epic to host the event without any serious problems, Amazon said, ensuring game servers were available to anyone who wanted to participate.
> Any game developer building their game on Unreal engine (or any other major game engine) can use these AWS services today to power their own game.
